About Jazzie B
Trevor Beresford Romeo OBE, professionally known as Jazzie B, is the visionary founder of the Soul II Soul collective. A central figure in the Funki Dred subculture of the late 1980s, he rose to prominence following a series of influential residencies at London's Africa Centre. This success led to global recognition with chart-topping singles such as Keep on Moving and Back to Life, resulting in two Grammy Awards and over 6.8 million album sales for the group. Beyond his own performing career, he has contributed to over 35 million albums as a producer and remixer, collaborating with icons including James Brown, Destiny’s Child, and Maxi Priest.
His influence extends across the creative industries, encompassing his own clothing line, a successful tenure running the Motown label in the UK, and footwear design for Lacoste. A prolific broadcaster, he has hosted influential programmes on Kiss FM and BBC London, and he continues to reach audiences through Mi-Soul. His ongoing impact on the industry is reflected in his role as a founding director of the Featured Artists Coalition and his work managing Soul II Soul Recordings.
Recently honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 MOBO Awards, Jazzie B remains a vital force in contemporary culture. He is highly sought after for corporate events and festivals worldwide, where he combines his extensive musical heritage with a professional, high-energy delivery that resonates with diverse international audiences.
On stage, Jazzie B is best known for talks on Music and Entertainment. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
Their work resonates with leaders across Events, Media & Broadcasting and Music, where the themes translate directly into team decisions, customer experience and growth strategy.
Jazzie B is regularly booked for Performers and Entertainer, Presenter & Awards Host and After Dinner Speaker, adapting tone, length and format to suit the event — from a 20-minute opener to a full conference keynote with Q&A.
