About Joe Marler
Joe Marler is an elite former rugby union professional who spent his entire club career at Harlequins, making over 200 appearances as a loosehead prop. A cornerstone of his club's success, he secured two Premiership titles and the European Challenge Cup during his tenure. On the international stage, he earned more than 75 caps for England and represented the British and Irish Lions, maintaining his status as one of the sport's most recognisable figures until his professional retirement in November 2024.
Beyond the pitch, Marler has transitioned into a successful broadcasting and media career. He co-hosts the podcast Things People Do alongside Tom Fordyce and lead the BBC series Joe Marler Will See You Now. His authentic and humorous personality made him a standout finalist on the inaugural series of The Celebrity Traitors. A shortlisted author for the Telegraph Rugby Book of the Year for his memoir, Loose Head, he also produced the Sky Sports documentary Big Boys Don't Cry, which examines modern approaches to mental wellbeing. In his current post-playing career, he serves as a Player Liaison Officer for England Rugby and acts as a dedicated ambassador for the mental health charity CALM.
Marler is highly regarded as a speaker for his unflinching honesty regarding the pressures of high-performance environments and his personal journey with mental health. He provides audiences with a unique perspective on resilience, leadership, and the importance of remaining genuine under intense public scrutiny. Organisations book him for his ability to blend professional sporting discipline with a relatable, human narrative that resonates across all sectors.
On stage, Joe Marler is best known for talks on Mental Health, Peak Performance and Resilience. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
