About Libby Jackson
Libby Jackson OBE is a leading British authority on space exploration with two decades of experience at the pinnacle of the sector. Currently serving as the first-ever Head of Space at the Science Museum in London, she manages public engagement and collaborates with global space agencies to expand the national collection. Her distinguished career includes seven years at the European Space Agency’s Mission Control, where she served as a Columbus Flight Director overseeing operations on the International Space Station. In 2023, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for her services to the space sector and received the Leif Erikson Exploration History Award.
During her tenure at the UK Space Agency, Libby held the role of Head of Space Exploration, representing British interests in robotic and human missions to the Moon and Mars. She famously led the education and outreach campaign for Tim Peake’s Principia mission, which engaged more than two million students across the country. An accomplished author of titles including A Galaxy of Her Own and Space Explorers, she is also a familiar face on television, contributing to programmes such as Stargazing Live and providing commentary on NASA’s Artemis II lunar mission.
Drawing on her background in physics and astronautics, Libby translates the complexities of orbit into compelling narratives. She is frequently booked for her ability to relate the high-pressure environment of mission control to leadership, team dynamics and resilience in modern organisations.
On stage, Libby Jackson is best known for talks on Science. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
Their work resonates with leaders across Education and Science & Research, where the themes translate directly into team decisions, customer experience and growth strategy.
Libby Jackson is regularly booked for Business Speaker and Presenter & Awards Host, adapting tone, length and format to suit the event — from a 20-minute opener to a full conference keynote with Q&A.
Based in UK, Libby Jackson travels internationally for engagements.
