About Ann Pettifor
Ann Pettifor is a distinguished economist renowned for her pivotal role as a leader of the Jubilee 2000 movement. This global campaign successfully pressured world leaders to cancel roughly $100 billion in debt for approximately 42 of the world’s most impoverished nations. A prescient analyst of financial trends, she was among the first to forecast the global credit crisis in her 2003 publication, The Real World Economic Outlook. Today, she serves as the Director of Policy Research in Macroeconomics (PRIME) and is an honorary research fellow at the Political Economy Research Centre at City, University of London.
Her extensive career includes advising several governments, including the British, Nigerian, and Ethiopian administrations, as well as working with the Queen of Jordan and various non-governmental organisations via the New Economics Foundation. As a co-author of the original Green New Deal, Pettifor is a leading voice on the intersection of monetary policy and environmental stability. She remains a member of the Green New Deal Group, where she continues to advocate for systemic reform to address the simultaneous challenges of climate change and financial volatility. Recently, she was appointed as the Chair of the Advisory Board for the Political Economy Research Centre at Goldsmiths.
Audiences book Ann Pettifor for her unparalleled grasp of international finance and her ability to provide a clear, authoritative framework for navigating today's complex economic and ecological landscape.
On stage, Ann Pettifor is best known for talks on Economics & the Economy, Energy & Sustainability and ESG & Social Responsibility. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
