About Charles Hazlewood
Charles Hazlewood is a world-renowned conductor and broadcaster who has led many of the most prestigious ensembles on the planet, including the Royal Concertgebouw, the Philharmonia, and the London Philharmonic. Since winning the European Broadcasting Union Conducting Competition in his twenties, he has become a familiar presence on British television and radio, presenting acclaimed BBC films on composers from Beethoven to The Beatles. His pioneering work as the founder of Paraorchestra, the first large-scale integrated ensemble of disabled and non-disabled professional musicians, has seen him headline Glastonbury and perform at the London 2012 Paralympics Closing Ceremony.
His decorated career includes three Sony Awards and the Sir Charles Groves Prize for his immense contribution to British musical life. In early 2021, he further cemented his influence by becoming the Music Ambassador for Sky Arts. A prolific creative force, he has conducted hundreds of world premieres and won the Berlin Film Festival Golden Bear for his South African opera film, U-Carmen e-Khayelitsha. His reach extends across genres, having collaborated with varied artists such as Nigel Kennedy, Professor Green, and Wyclef Jean.
On the speaking circuit, Charles uses the orchestra as a powerful metaphor for the modern corporate environment. He demonstrates how diverse groups can align behind a single vision through clear communication and collaborative rhythm. By incorporating interactive elements that turn audiences into a unified choir of sound, he provides a memorable exploration of teamwork and leadership. Organisations book him for his ability to translate the high-pressure world of musical performance into practical strategies for collective success.
On stage, Charles Hazlewood is best known for talks on Leadership, Teamwork, Communication and Motivational Speaking. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
Their work resonates with leaders across Arts & Culture, Education and Music, where the themes translate directly into team decisions, customer experience and growth strategy.
Charles Hazlewood is regularly booked for Business Speaker, Presenter & Awards Host and Motivational Speaker, adapting tone, length and format to suit the event — from a 20-minute opener to a full conference keynote with Q&A.
