About Chris Moon
Chris Moon is a former British Army officer who transitioned into humanitarian work with the Hazardous Areas Life-Support Organisation (HALO). While supervising mine clearance in Cambodia, he survived a harrowing abduction by Khmer Rouge guerrillas, successfully negotiating his own release and that of his colleagues. Later, while leading a mission in Mozambique, he survived a landmine explosion that resulted in the loss of his lower right leg and arm. His recovery defied medical predictions, and within a year, he completed the London Marathon.
Since his recovery, Chris has established himself as a world-class endurance athlete. He was the first amputee to complete the Great Sahara Run and has conquered some of the most punishing ultramarathons on the planet, including a 700km journey across Cambodia. Beyond his physical feats, he has dedicated himself to the study of human behaviour and management, translating his extreme experiences into frameworks for workplace safety, risk assessment, and individual wellbeing.
His transition from high-stakes military and humanitarian roles to the global stage makes him a premier choice for organisations looking to strengthen leadership and peak performance. He offers a unique perspective on the psychological mechanisms required to overcome self-imposed limits and thrive under pressure, making him a compelling presence for corporate audiences worldwide.
On stage, Chris Moon is best known for talks on Wellbeing, Resilience, Peak Performance and Risk & Risk Management. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
Their work resonates with leaders across Leadership & Coaching and Motivational Speaking, where the themes translate directly into team decisions, customer experience and growth strategy.
Chris Moon is regularly booked for Motivational Speaker and Business Speaker, adapting tone, length and format to suit the event — from a 20-minute opener to a full conference keynote with Q&A.
Based in UK, Chris Moon travels internationally for engagements.
