About Chris Ship
Chris Ship is a distinguished journalist and broadcaster who spent more than a decade at the heart of British politics. Reporting from the House of Commons press gallery for ITV News, he served as Deputy Political Editor and frequently stood in for Robert Peston. During his tenure at Westminster, he provided comprehensive analysis on general elections, party leadership contests, and significant policy developments. His expertise also extended to defence reporting, which included assignments in Iraq and Afghanistan where he spent time embedded with the 3rd Battalion the Parachute Regiment in Kandahar.
Now serving as ITV’s Royal Editor, Chris manages the network’s coverage of the British Royal Family. In this capacity, he reports on everything from international state visits and royal tours to major ceremonial events and weddings. He has extensive experience interviewing senior politicians and civil servants, routinely leading output for flagship programmes ranging from the lunchtime news to News at Ten.
As a keynote speaker, Chris offers a unique perspective on the intersection of government and the monarchy. His deep understanding of the British establishment and his experience reporting from global conflict zones make him a compelling choice for audiences seeking authoritative commentary on contemporary affairs.
On stage, Chris Ship is best known for talks on Political Commentary, Royal Affairs and Journalism. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
Their work resonates with leaders across Media & Broadcasting and Politics & Government, where the themes translate directly into team decisions, customer experience and growth strategy.
Chris Ship is regularly booked for Presenter & Awards Host, adapting tone, length and format to suit the event — from a 20-minute opener to a full conference keynote with Q&A.
Based in UK, Chris Ship travels internationally for engagements.
