About Giles Duley
Giles Duley is a distinguished documentary photographer and the Chief Executive of the Legacy of War Foundation. Originally a successful fashion and celebrity photographer, he changed his professional focus to highlight the human cost of global conflict. His work has taken him to international flashpoints including Sudan, Angola, and Afghanistan, where he documents the experiences of those living in war-torn regions.
In 2011, whilst embedded with the US Army in Afghanistan, he sustained life-changing injuries after stepping on an improvised explosive device. Despite losing three limbs, his determination to continue his craft saw him return to work after an intensive period of rehabilitation. He has since returned to active conflict zones, dedicated to sharing stories of resilience and the long-term impact of war on civilian populations.
