About Leroy Logan
Dr Leroy Logan MBE is a highly distinguished former Superintendent who dedicated three decades to the Metropolitan Police Service. As a founding member and former chair of the Black Police Association, he has spent his career at the forefront of the movement for a more equitable criminal justice system. His extensive experience includes contributing to high-profile investigations such as the Stephen Lawrence murder inquiry, where he demonstrated exceptional perseverance and determination in the pursuit of cultural reform within the force.
Since retiring from active duty, he has become a respected commentator and author, following the publication of his memoir Closing Ranks: My Life as a Cop. His life story gained further international recognition when it was dramatised by director Steve McQueen in the award-winning Small Axe film series. Beyond his policing career, he is a dedicated advocate for youth empowerment and has received an honorary PhD from the University of East London for his commitment to mentoring initiatives aimed at reducing knife crime and supporting underrepresented communities.
Now a frequent contributor to major broadcasters including the BBC, Channel 4, and LBC, Leroy is sought after for his profound understanding of community relations and organisational change. Audiences value his unique perspective on fostering inclusive environments and his ability to translate complex social challenges into clear strategies for modern leadership.
On stage, Leroy Logan is best known for talks on Diversity & Inclusion and Leadership. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
Leroy Logan is regularly booked for Business Speaker and Presenter & Awards Host, adapting tone, length and format to suit the event — from a 20-minute opener to a full conference keynote with Q&A.
Based in UK, Leroy Logan travels internationally for engagements.
