About Sandi Toksvig
Sandi Toksvig is a multi-talented Danish-British broadcaster, comedian and writer whose career began in the prestigious Cambridge Footlights. A graduate of Girton College, she first rose to prominence during the early eighties and has since established herself as a staple of British media. She is widely recognised as the host of the BBC television quiz QI, succeeding Stephen Fry, and previously served as a co-presenter of The Great British Bake Off. Her extensive broadcasting history includes a decade at the helm of Radio 4's The News Quiz, along with appearances on Mock the Week, Time Team, and the very first episode of Have I Got News For You.
Beyond her television work, Sandi is a prolific author of fiction and non-fiction for both adults and children. Notable titles include the maritime account Island Race with John McCarthy, and the feminist history Girls Are Best. Her activism and influence extended to the political sphere as a co-founder of the Women's Equality Party in 2015 and as the former president of the Women of the Year Lunch. Her contributions to the industry have earned her the title of Radio Broadcaster of the Year and numerous honorary doctorates.
Sandi is a versatile and engaging orator who brings immense warmth and sharp intelligence to the stage. Audiences book her for her unparalleled wit, her ability to navigate complex social topics with grace, and her reputation as one of the most reliable and beloved figures in British entertainment.
On stage, Sandi Toksvig is best known for talks on Comedy, Broadcasting, Writing and Activism. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
