About Dave Fishwick
Dave Fishwick is the Burnley-based entrepreneur who famously challenged the traditional financial establishment by creating his own lending model. From his early days working on building sites to launching a successful minibus business that became the largest independent supplier in the UK, Fishwick has always possessed an unconventional business spirit. Following the 2008 financial crisis, he founded Burnley Savings and Loans in 2011 to provide a fairer alternative for savers and small businesses, famously pledging to donate the enterprise's profits to local charities and food banks.
His journey from a local businessman to a national advocate for banking reform was captured in the BAFTA-winning Channel 4 series, Bank of Dave. Since its inception, his lending initiative has provided over £27 million to thousands of individuals and companies across the North of England. His remarkable story reached a global audience through a hit Netflix film starring Rory Kinnear, with a sequel titled Bank of Dave 2: The Loan Ranger scheduled for release in 2025. Fishwick remains a vocal campaigner for financial system changes and has frequently lobbied Parliament to support fairer lending practices.
Known for his persistence and down-to-earth Lancashire humour, Fishwick explains how determination and a clear ethical purpose can disrupt even the most entrenched industries. He is booked for his high-energy delivery and unique perspective on building a business from the ground up while maintaining a commitment to social responsibility.
On stage, Dave Fishwick is best known for talks on Financial Services, Customer Service & Experience, Retail, ESG & Social Responsibility and Strategy. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
Their work resonates with leaders across Business & Consulting, Entrepreneurship and Finance & Economics, where the themes translate directly into team decisions, customer experience and growth strategy.
Dave Fishwick is regularly booked for Business Speaker and Motivational Speaker, adapting tone, length and format to suit the event — from a 20-minute opener to a full conference keynote with Q&A.
Based in UK, Dave Fishwick travels internationally for engagements.
