About Geoff Hurst
Sir Geoff Hurst remains a definitive figure in sporting history as the first man to ever score a hat-trick in a World Cup final. His three goals at Wembley Stadium secured a 4–2 win against West Germany, a feat that cemented his status as a national icon. Following the passing of Sir Bobby Charlton in 2023, he now holds the distinction of being the final surviving member of the legendary 1966 England starting eleven. Beyond international glory, Sir Geoff enjoyed a prolific club career primarily at West Ham United, where he netted 242 goals and lifted both the FA Cup and the European Cup Winners' Cup.
Throughout a distinguished playing career that included 49 England caps and 24 goals, he was the leading goalscorer in the First Division for six consecutive years. Transitioning from the pitch to the dugout, he managed Chelsea and coached the national team before finding further success in the commercial insurance sector. He also holds a unique sporting record as a dual-sport athlete, having made a first-class cricket appearance for Essex in 1962.
In his current capacity as Director of Football for McDonald’s, Sir Geoff champions youth participation and physical activity through various grassroots programmes. He is an exceptionally popular choice for corporate events, offering audiences a rare first-hand perspective on the golden era of English football and the persistent values of leadership and elite performance.
On stage, Geoff Hurst is best known for talks on Football and Motivational Speaking. Audiences leave with a clear, practical view of the subject rather than a generic overview — every keynote is shaped around the brief and the room.
